Not a spilling mistook, Offcuts has been crocheting a square at a stand a little way from us ( I don't think it's finished), and Sazzie and Mr Sazzie knitted a square each, I believe. I didn't see the results - presumably they're to be sewn into a blanket for some deserving cause. I just hope that the "germ" doesn't spread and turn all these crucial morsbaggers into knitters / crocheters. :?

Just got back from a lovely veggie meal in Hammersmith. Was still crocheting in the restaurant, had a coughing fit and Grumpy chucked me out of the door. The waitress was more concerned and brought me 2 glasses of water. Looking forward to the knitting pics! Have just heard that the Sazzies are back home safe and sound. :D

I had one memorable incident. Was talking to a lady when it became evident that she did not speak a word of english and off she went, only to come back with a translator. He started to bid for Pol's elephant bag. They say everyone has a price but he didn't reach it!

Spoke to a lovely lady from Lewisham who worked at the National History Museum. She was very keen, didn't mind me crocheting and said she was going to register a pod for the NHM. Hope she does - 'citing! :D

Glad the Sazzies arrived hom safely and looking forward to tomorrow!

Great to hear that you're home (nearly) safe and sound Sazzie, and thanks for letting us know.

We've just read your last post Offcuts -

Here we are again. Bit dull and breezy but we have hopes.

First in this morning and a had a bit of a chat with security. It seems a few people try to blag their way in, but their cover story fails when pressed for details, "can I see the invitation e-mail please ?"

They also say we should get most visitors today. Should be chaos then.

Growls in the car on the way. Every evening when tidying up we say we will bring in a brush tomorrow and promise to remind eachother and every morning we remember too late. Tomorrow........

Oh, Beattie has just invited a couple of passing Brent Geese in to make a bag ( "we are very good with beginners"). Thankfully they have declined as they do not seem to be properly house trained.

She is now muttering "We want more gel". I am not sure who the we is.

Must find out what Bernie is putting in the tea.

The geese have flown and joined the stream of circling aircraft.

Back to the bags.

Good morning, the Sazzies are rested..... fed and watered....

We had a great time yesterday and it was good to catch up with fellow morsbaggers and to meet to Bernie.

When we first arrived at Kew station on Friday there was a monsoon and by the time we had walked to our hotel we resembled drowned rats.... but we soon dried out, we didn't make it to the pub for a meal and ate in the hotel as we were very tired from the journey. Our hotel was lively with about 15 Leeds rugby supporters keeping us entertained with their songs...

Offcuts expected time of arrival kept changing but they did manage to get into the restaurant to eat before it closed. :)

On Saturday morning we were given a lift to Kew by Grumpy (what a star), which I was very grateful for as I had 50 completed morsbags in a holdall which are a lot heavier than you think when you've got a bad back.... but we soon found the stall where Beattie, Masterclock and Bernie were already hard at work. Everything was well organised and we had a quick look around before Offcuts and the general public arrived.

Offcuts arrived on her scooter and did two laps of the marquee before coming to a stop, i did think she wasn't going to stop at one point, then the scooter went into reverse as she was about to dismount and a nearby stall looked in jepordy for a moment but all was well, sorry i didn't get any pictures as I was too busy shouting 'stop'... :?

Our day went very quickly and we met lots of wonderful people, we saw bags go off to Spain, France and Canada. We had lots of offers of fabric and Beattie took details of London based people who had fabric to pass onto Pol. One lady promised to come back today or Monday with lots of fabric and silk hankerchiefs. Another gentleman offered to buy his wife a sewing machine :D

I met a very nice young man from Portugal who was interesting in setting up a community pod in his village and he came back towards the end of the day to make a bag.

We had lots of novice sewers who produced wonderful bags and were very proud of their work, rightly so! It was great that people had the choice of picking a ready made bag if they didn't have time to stop, making a bag from a ready prepared kit or seeing the process through from start to finish by selecting their fabric and starting at the cutting out stage. :D

I had one lady who spotted a kit in some very nice fabric and couldn't understand why I wouldn't let her buy the fabric... I don't know what she wanted to make from it but i couldn't persuade her to make a morsbag... she just wanted the fabric...

Offcuts did a sterling job explaining to the gentleman who wanted to buy a bag from the display that it wasn't for sale... at any price

One of the nearby stalls was advising people what plants to have in their gardens to attract bees, and a lady from that stall took a bag and returned minutes later with a felted Bee for out stall, it seemed a fair swap :D

Beattie and Masterclock managed to have a quick look around in the morning , it would have been a shame for them to have travelled so far and not done so considering Beatties gardening skills.

Mr Sazzie learnt to knit on a nearby stand and Offcuts had a go at crocheting.... all in all a very varied and interesting day. :D

Unfortunately the Sazzies had to leave at 4.15 in order to catch our train home, but we had a good journey back and arrived home (at nanas house) an hour earlier than expected... we had more rugby supporters to entertain us with their singing on the way home

I will attempt to upload some photos later this evening when we eventually get home to our house.... but in the meantime

GOOD LUCK TEAM SUNDAY
