Well Offcuts, I handed out bags and gave an informal and impromptu talk about Morsbags to a group of ladies from the Parish just before Christmas. Next Thursday I am the speaker at my Mother's Young at Heart club in Tunbridge Wells, On 7th February I am holding a "Come along for coffee and posh biscuits, learn about Morsbags and make one for yourself" evening at the local Hardware store.everyone invited.(3 friends are bringing their machines and have promised to help.) I've got no idea how many will come but several have expressed an interest. In March I'm going to Crawley to speak to members of the Trefoil Guild. This is all from someone who likes to keep a low profile. :?

I certainly would - that's the one that enticed me too! And I'm sure it's not just the posh biscuits that are the lure...

You're right, there's nothing like a Proper Hardware Shop. :D Where you buy loose nails by the pound and they weigh them out on proper scales.

Thank you all, I must admit I'm a bit nervous, especially about my Mum's club, because she's bigged me up no end. I think her friend are expecting a wonder woman. Thank heavens that Morsbags is such a good subject to wax lyrical about.
Our local hardware store is marvelous, several years ago when it was threatened with closure, our GP got together with the church and other interested parties and formed a Trust which took over and runs it for the local community. As well as being able to get almost anything you could want ( "It will be in by Thursday"), the Community Bus,Youth Clubs, Book Club etc are run from there.

It sounds marvellous Tintin! What an unusual community centre.
I'll bet you find that your Mum's friends are an easy audience, they'll all be "on your side" because of the connection through your Mum - the opposite of a hostile audience. :D

Amazing Tintin. I'd like to move in to the hardware stall. Sounds like an wonderful place to make morsbags :D

Don't worry about your talk with your Mum's group. She is just proud of you! And as I said morsbags is such a good concept it is very easy to talk about. There is a certain amount of celebrity status that goes with giving any talk. Can't really avoid it. As I have a little flyer on 'Why morsbags are free' which I can send you. Will get on to it this week. :D

I remember those old fashioned hardware stores, they could usually produce what you wanted and I was always double checking the prices as I could not believe how cheap they were. The main snag was though was that I knew what I wanted but I never knew what it was officially called. It would lead to waving hands and scenes reminiscent of a Tony Hancock sketch, if you remember him. Sometimes reduced to drawing on paper bags - never see them now come to think of it.

Fire engine at vets due to track boot size mismatch, but hope to fix soon, Exeter permitting.

My parents in law, who have never had a computer were very impressed with Youtube when we showed them the Fork Handles sketch.

Its usually Ivybags that tells us we're off topic! She must have given up! :D
