How were the sausages Masterclock?!! I feel SO Christmassy after reading about Cotehele! Yum and Merry puddings and tinsly handcranking! Ivybags looks snug in her thermals and the shopping sounds divine!! Congratulations on seeing so many morsbags in the wild - that's really warmed me (and I need it! Fingers are cold to type!) and SO SO brilliant to think of them still all going strong and being carried about. Well done on finding a Junior Masterclock too... keep tight hold of him if poss.

Glad to hear you're all back home safely and well done for braving and surviving the Christmassy freezy snap AND for being invited back next year!! :D Excellent!

Congratulations from me too, Ivybags and Beattie and Masterclock, another successful event. Looks like the Morsbag word has been spread far and wide over this weekend! Glad you're all home safely, now for a well deserved rest and warm up?!!!

We had another fun-filled and successful day at Cotehele today. It went very similarly to yesterday. Our youngest apprentice was on site early and put the heater on for us as soon as he arrived.

He wound all the bobbins

then made four bags - one of them to his own design, from scratch. The world now has another competent sewer - that's one of the things I love about making morsbags, helping people learn a new skill. :D

I took a few pics of some of the goodies on offer,

til the camera batteries ran out and the spares were powering our dinky little Christmas lights adorning the stall. Never mind. :?

We're already looking forward to going back next year :D
Oh, and by the way, we gave out just over 500 morsbags over the two days.....

I found the lurid green icing a bit off-putting Sazzie, if they'd toned that down a bit I might have bought one. We did buy lots of fudge - and I'm afraid it's all gone already.

My vote was with Mrs Plum Duff !!! YUM !!!

And I bought some Wassail for the "out-laws" - how west Country is that !!!
Re the sausages - they sold out on Saturday, and had to drive back up to Somerset to make a new batch overnight !!!!
I bought Pork and cider - they are on my menu tonight :D

Today I will be working on my Winter Morsbag - it might be fleecy methinks, as it will keep my hands warm as I sew - and I rather suspect that Archie may help me :)

Great pics and heartwarming about the new morsbagger! Has he got access to a sewing machine so he can carry on bagging? Sorry to hear Frank has a cold. Hope he gets better soon :(

Many congratulations to Ivybags for topping 2000. :D

He's used an electric machine at school, but much preferred the hand cranks :D He had a go on Ivybags' Brother while we were tidying up and still preferred the old ones - he was well impressed by the built in needle threader though. He said he's down to do "fabric technology" at school next term and thinks they'll be making bags, so he has a head start. I got the impression there wasn't a sewing machine at home though.

Maybe we could give him one. I have got 2 spare handcranks with the torpedo shuttles. He would be welcome to one of them. Perhaps we could send one down with the Brothers after Christmas.

I'd be reluctant to interfere Offcuts. I think that it would be better to let his parents sort it out if he wanted to make morsbags and carry on the bagging work. I don't think that getting hold of an old machine would be difficult if he wanted one, but "wishing" one onto a family that didn't have space for one or the spare time to help with it could be more of a burden. Let them "drive" how it goes.
