Absolutely! And when I'm making them with rocbags we're on fire if three of us make 2 bags in an hour and a half. Mind you, the entertainment quotient is off the scale sometimes, when the person cranking the handle is crowing with delight at what they're achieving. :D :D :D

Hi I think my husband is a bit surprised by my enthusiasm for making Morsbags. He seemed to think that having his dinner was more important! He's also a bit worried about our pension vanishing as I bought a rotary cutter and board yesterday. Didn't find a sewing machine but we are off to see my Mum in Tunbridge Wells today and I've persuaded him we really need to go to the sewing machine shop in Camden Road.
I have been taking about 40 mins to make a bag from start to finish but hope to cut that time, as I have promised 10 bags to my friends(non sewers{is that how you spell it?}) and the hardware store are wanting me to do another handout next month.
You are all so friendly I want to thank you for the great welcome you've given me.
Regards

Hi Tintin - nice to hear you feel so welcome, you will find a rotary cutter and mat makes life much easier!

As for your husband thinking his tea was more important than morsbags... well, i think he is lucky you have a craft room, Mr Sazzie hasn't seen our dining table since Christmas

LOL!!! poor Mr S..... so how does he eat his meals, on a tray or have you another table in the kitchen? I wouldn't bother with meals when I'm making bags if there was only me to consider, but at least Mr L cooks most nights so we do eat (I get lumbered with the cleaning up though!).

I have a craft/sewing room, but now Mr L is complaining that we never see each other as I disappear up there to do my sewing, while he's downstairs on his laptop in front of the TV. I did say that I could always come back downstairs and sew in the lounge but he said it's too noisy, which is why I was banished upstairs in the first place! I can't win... at least we meet up in bed every night (albeit at different times!!!).

I think these husbands might have to take follow in Mr Beattie's footstep's - if you can't beat them join them. In fact Joby was the first from day 1!!

Loopy you need to get your handcrank going. As Beattie said they are a lot quieter. I presume the headphones idea didn't go down too well. Then he could see you but not hear you. Grumpy swears by them!! can't think why!!

Don't think there's much chance of him joining me... I think UKAware was a one-off! That and the fact that I virtually railroaded him into it there!

No, the headphones idea didn't go down too well.... I think he'd quite like me to stop so much sewing and do more housework to be honest!!! I'll just pootle along as I am doing and we'll meet up in bed in the mornings!

Ah yes, I remember Camden Road from half a century ago. Seem to remember sewing machines then too... However dinner is still more important

Well Masterclock,
We have probably seen each other in the dim and distant past, Camden Road hasn't changed that much, and the World of Sewing shop was brilliant.
( I got my machine,I was able to try several and the salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful) But what have they done to the rest of the town? I turn my back for 40 years and it's all changed.
