Its snowing thickly down here in South Devon now - nearly as pretty as Sazzie's - especially in the dark - kids next door have been sledging down the road - quite a rarity here.

a good foot of now quite crispy snow here - finished 3 snow tyre things - I'm going to work from home again tomorrow - no point travelling 15 miles just to sit at a computer in the town hall - I can do that here.... and trains were off today anyway. Paul will take his snow things with him - he'll try them out on his snow covered yard at work to see if they do actually work and I'll finish the other one for my tyres tomorrow. I think they may need some strips of felted wool added to help the friction...

tree taken down as well.... always find that quite sad....

keep warm all

Did the snow tyre covers work? If so, can you post instructions?

We had snow chains on yesterday taking daughter and granddaughter home, only for one to break, then whilst trying to get the broken chain off, the car started sliding down the hill. Luckily, we managed to stop it before it hit anything but it was pretty scary. Don't think the chains breaking damaged the car this year, like they did last time though - I am sure fabric ones wouldn't be half as destructive and wouldn't damage the roads where the ploughs and gritters have managed to clear either.

Unfortunately, all roads into our village involve hills, so we tend to need something if we are to keep moving.

Blimey Lynne and I have seen your drive as well... nasty little slope, a tight spot that is with what seemed like lots of walls. You did very well not to do more damage.

I havn't driven the car since the snow settled in badly. Tomorrow I must go into town to get a bit of shopping as stocks are running low. The village shops are hoping to get stocks in tomorrow but it seems people are up very early and wipe them out of their supplies before I get a chance to get there to grab some..

So into town it is tomorrow but I won't be driving personally, I am going to catch the bus and seeing as the boy is off school due to the snow he is going to have the pleasurable task of carrying the shopping home.. My back has been playing up a lot more in the weather due to the cold and the fact that over christmas and new year I ate everything in site and have put on weight yet again.. sigh...

Anyways we digress. I hope that wherever everyone is they will be sewing like mad while the weather enables them too

Well - having seen the weather forecast for weekend and tonight being the coldest night for years (I was born in early Feb 1963 when there was acres of snow...) I think we should all stay home and not try driving anywhere.
So we'll have a "Virtual Lancashire Bagging Anniversary Experience" log on here when you make a bag (if you're in Lancs/Greater Manchester/North West anywhere)
and at 2.30 there will be a compulsory sit down for coffee and cake for 20 minutes.... Is that okay?
Take care and keep warm all xxx

Can we come too? I'll make some soup the day before (that's tomorrow!) and we'll log on and add a bag every time we make one. Sorry we won't actually see your snowy fields and exchange cupcakes.
