The title's right, but it's so slow I don't think it's the right song. You couldn't get a school choir to sing that Eva Cassidy song, it's almost at a standstill. And the tune's not the one I meant. This is it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJlJY1CZ ... re=related

I did Beattie, That's it -Love Bryn singing it. We were taught it at primary school by singing along to the wireless. We learned so many songs that way," Brighton Camp" and "Calla Herring" and "The Sally Gardens" Oh It's made me very nostalgic thinking about it.
Did you do "Singing Together" in the school hall? We did - several classes together! I I remember different songs to your favourites, but it taught us some great ones. Do you remember William Appleby's cheery "Hello Schools!" at the beginning of each programme? There are lots of people coming over all nostalgic about it on t'internet. We had a different booklet every term with all the words in, and nice illustrations...... aah! I wonder if I still have them - maybe up in the roof....
I remember school wireless. It was lots of wooden boxes you had to plug together with glowing valves and things inside. The connectors never seemed to work properly, so with a bit of luck it would all dissolve in crackles halfway through.
It was the internet of its age, and about as reliable.
Never paid much attention to the content, but I am sure I remember kids running about pretending to be butterflies or similar.
Come to think of it, it was at about that age I first met the mysteries of erecting a deck chair - rather painful as I recollect.
It's taken a while to get them finished but just thought you might like to see my revamped vintage deckchairs with their new canvas:
To recap, the deckchairs were from Freecycle, I bought the tacks to do the job on eBay for £2.89 and the huge sheet of canvas came from Age Concern's charity shop for £2. I have re-covered 2 deckchairs, made 2 cushions and am also making matching bunting PLUS I have loads left to make some stripy Morsbags. Plus I made two bags from the old deckchair fabric. Not bad, eh?
these are fab waley - what a find that material was. I hope we have some sunny days now for you to enjoy them. And I love the way the blue stripes go with your blue decking Look forward to seeing the morsbags too when you've made them. I love seeing pics of other people's bags!

The Bernina is going very well, thank you. I'm going a bit slower with it now so no broken needles..... (although it sounds like you're speeding up, looking at the other discussion!)
