Indeed!

How did the Greenwich Jubilee go? The one here was a wash out :( Lots of people attended, but heavy rain all day meant no picnics on the ground. Would have been amazing if the weather was sunny.

They couldn't go in the end Tailbird. Poor Grumpy had a bad foot and couldn't drive and I think that may have been a contributing factor. In view of the awful weather maybe it was for the best.

I like making bags from umbrellas too. If we walk across Blackheath (SE London) after a strong wind we usually find some abandoned ones. An average umbrella makes one large & one small bag. I like to think of giving the umbrella fabric a new lease of life.

It's even better making bags out of found fabric! :D

I still have a broken umbrella I want to make into a bag.... do I just remove all the hardware and make it as if it were a standard bag? How do sewing machines cope with the shiny/thick material?
