Wow looks like an amazing event - thank you for the excellent reports and pictures. i love the fact that it was all hand cranks - looks great on the pictures and i'm sure it helped pull in the punters. :0

Beattie PLEASE rest your knee today!

Thanks very much for the supplies, Ivybags. I haven't actually seen these bags yet, but M/C tells me they're in there somewhere. We haven't emptied the car out yet - bit of a daunting task. Thanks for joining us yesterday.

Everything on the field was done without electricity. There was a solar-powered sound system operating a little way away. Gave us a nice bit of background music in between the bands on the "sound stage" on the other side of the village hall. And someone on the other side of the field was using a hand crank to personalise and transform clothing. (I only heard about her - didn't see it myself)

We're invited back for next year - though I've just seen that the spring bank holiday has been transferred to 4th June instead of end of May. And Calstock Festival is always the week-end after the Bank Holiday. So I assume it will be 8th/9th /10th June. There are events on from Thursday - Sunday, if you wanted to stay and join in.
Make a bag - you know you want to!

Thank you so much for posting about this as it was really sunny and 'English summery' to read - hand cranks and facepaints, gazebos and summer dresses - lovely! Made me laugh a bit about the poor guy who kept setting up 'home' only to be asked to move again!! Seems like young boys were really enthusiastic about hand crank sewing and 36 is a fantastic total in the heat and breeze! Wonderful event! :D
