Cotehele Christmas Food Fair 2010

Postby beattie » Wed Nov 17, 2010 2:59 pm

Dates Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th November 10am - 4pm (I think the times are right.. :? )

The South West Pods are combining again to hand out morsbags at the Christmas Food Fair organised by Taste of the West at Cotehele, a lovely National Trust House on the border between Cornwall and Devon. We've had some lovely days out at this venue before, though the weather was absolutely terrible last year. "Someone"? Maybe the garden staff? makes a fantastic garland out of dried flowers from the superb gardens and the garland is suspended in the main hall of the house that is opened specially for the occasion. The Christmas Food Fair is an opportunity for lots of local small food suppliers to showcase their wares. Ivybags found last year that a quick round of bagging the stall holders resulted in lots of super samples of their wares for us to try. :D We've been given a corner of the restaurant to lurk in next to the heater - thanks Belinda! :D

As it highly unlikely that I will get chance to post tomorrow .....

Good luck to the Beatties, Ivybags (and any other South Western morsbaggers who are joining you) for this weekends event - I hope you have a great time and get to enjoy some free samples again

Thank you Sazzie! We're planning on taking Masterclock's car as it has four wheel drive. :? It's hailing here and Cotehele is about 50 miles away, down a lot of very small twisty, up-and-down lanes - one of which was flooded last time we were there.
I think we're going to be glad of our gorgeous morsbags-embroidered fleeces that Offcuts organised for us.

And oilskins, sou'wester and lifejacket too!
We're just making some preparations for Saturday and Sunday - a few bits and pieces (Nicely edged pockets, for example) to slap onto multi-piece bags on International Morsbagging Sunday. We have a few hundred bags to give out.

Leafie B of Ashburton Futures pod will be joining us, so we'll have three pods represented and several hand cranks between us. :D

Do take care, I remember those country lanes round Cotehele, from a camping holiday many moons ago. We've had no snow or rain or hail here in Sussex but by keeping an eye on the weather forecasts I've got some idea what the rest of you are up against. Good Luck for the weekend :D
