Calstock Green Festival

Postby beattie » Mon May 31, 2010 6:53 pm

The "usual suspects" - Ivybags, Offcuts and both Cuckoobirds will be morsbagging at Calstock Green Festival on Saturday 5th June. Being a bit dim, I asked where Calstock Green was, but I'd got the wrong end of the stick - it's a "Green Festival" at Calstock - a small picturesque village right on the River Tamar which forms the border between Cornwall and the rest of Britain. And it's on the Cornish side. :D Bonus! No passports needed!

Offcuts and Grumpy have extended their holiday especially to come and sew with us and the lovely people of Calstock. As it's a Green Festival we're packing the handcranks so that we can bag "off grid" in Offcuts' gazebo and we've got lots of kits and hundreds of ready-made bags. Now we just need some fair weather - nice and dry with a spot of sunshine but not too hot please! 8)

We're looking forward to it already! :D

Good luck with that.... sounds lovely, and the weather forecast for the weekend is hot & sunny so you'll need the gazebo. Wish I could join you with my hand crank but we're off to my sister's on Thursday till Sunday. (She and her daughter have 3 machines between them so I'm hoping I'll try and persuade them to make bags.... don't hold your breath though!).

It would be lovely to see you again Loopy, but I do understand that it is at the other end of the country and you do have a prior engagement.

You just want an excuse to get out the handcrank again and compare it to all the others we have. No excuse needed - you could just trickle out into the garden with it if it's fine, or sit in the lounge sewing on it if not.

Handcranks do have the benefit of being quieter so you may find that Mr L doesn't banish you both when he's trying to watch TV.

Thanks Beattie... yes, it is the other end of the country to us... never mind, I'm sure there will be other opportunities for me to use my new Singer... once I get some oil in it it might be a little bit quieter! For now, Mr L is happy to sit and watch TV while I sew away upstairs... (I think). It's getting to the stage where we have to make an appointment to see each other, LOL!
