Adding to the tally...

Hey all

was just wondering how long it takes for our totals to be added to the main page tally when we update our pod page? Cos I've updated mine a few times recently, and it doesnt add to the total straight away, or even after refreshing a few times, so I end up leaving the site before its been added and dont actually know if its been added at all:)

Okay, this time it had added by the time I wrote the post and went back to the main page:) I assume theres just a few minutes delay? Or does it update the main page periodically?

It used to update automatically, but since we had the server glitch it seems to take a short while.

The new bags are definitely logged as far as we can see, but can you guys keep an eye on your personal totals to make sure the bags you add stick.

I am looking into this but I think it is nothing to worry about and simply a browser thing.

Now I've got the lurgy! I added 4 to the pod tally but they didn't appear on the bag in the bottom right corner when I clicked on "update".
I reloaded the page & they appeared at last. I'm sure it used to update automatically.

Hi! I am using this old thread here for a new question regarding the "Adding to the tally..." topic. I hope it's ok.

I know that our administrators and moderators are able to see who is adding morsbags to the tally and how many bags are added each time.

This morning I logged in and found 170 new morsbags on the tally. I thought "WOW this is amazing! I want to know who did that!" and I was wondering if it would be possible to make this kind of info visible to all of us.
I think it would be great to have access to more detailed info about that! What do you think?

Maybe Joby1 is already taking care of it or maybe has already received similar requests from other morsbaggers...
Just wanted to ask if this is something feasible from a techinical point of view.

It was offcuts2, Chiara. This morning we had a big givaway at a Leicester Christmas market and gave away 400 of offcuts2 bags (see other thread). I agree toatally that it would be good to see where the new pods are and who is adding bags on a daily basis.
I know Joe has more work to do on the website, so maybe it is a possibilty.

We have taken the morsmap down for maintenance.
Amongst one of the features we will add whilst at it is to see a short list of the last few bag additions either in the map and/or in the pod page.

Is it me, but before I added 4 to the tally today, the bag in the bottom right showed 8 bags and 4 pods joined today, 8 bags and 10 pods joined this month, and 8 bags and 34 pods joined this year
It now shows 12 bags made today, this month & this year, which I'm sure isn't correct.

Hi Bernie. I've had a look and there was one new pod that registered yesterday and four new ones registered today. Three of those new pods are suspicious - they've added stupid numbers of bags (about 700 characters......), I've marked them as suspicious and will not authorise them. Bags added by unauthorised pods are not added to the tally. There have been 12 bags added that I believe in up to the time you added yours, then your 4 and my 10. So today's figures seem to be OK.

You are right that there is a problem with the bags made so far this month and this year - they both now read 22. No doubt Joe will have to tear his hair out to remedy this. I'll send an email, but it may take some time to correct. The "all time" figure for bags made - ever seems to be OK.
