Don't say storage is not a problem for you, as you may get more than you bargained for :D I am very jealous of anyone with lots of storage space, as we seem to just have overflowing spaces, which you can't get into or find anything, as they are so full.

There are plenty of "sandwiches" left, I will try and take a few pictures when I get chance and get more down to Offcuts for you when the opportunity arises. This week, I managed to get the sewing room offcuts all into the boot (6 bags) which left the rest of the car for some boxes of fabric from the other area - these are mainly sample and test pieces. There must be at least a further 2 or 3 car loads of quilts (when I find them a good home) and a quantity of curtains and cushion covers, that we can use and more "sandwiches" (I think it is a good description, but the filling is more generous than the bread :!: ) I am going to experiment with Bernie's idea of sucking out the air, to try and get more into the car - but then I would need to take along a vacuum cleaner, which takes up room, and hope they don't all reinflate too quickly.

On the storage issue, no-one is replying to my emails regarding costs (perhaps because I said we would like it preferably free), so I think a visit is now called for to the nearest one. I have found another couple to try (one looks to be like the old container), but they are further from me, so will cost more in time and fuel getting there but the rental price may be slightly cheaper.

A few photos of the wadding as promised, to help explain it if you haven't seen what we get.

These bottom ones are not as thick. I think they are sample pieces made up with piping round.

Tallbirdme, if you like the look of any in particular or give me an estimate of the smallest that is useful, I can put together a bag of assorted pieces for you. Do you prefer the thinner or thicker or can you use both? There is plenty if anyone else would like some too. I am going to aim to get it down to Offcuts in a couple of weeks, if that is ok.

Hello Lynne, I think the thinner stuff would work well, but I try a bit of the thicker wadding too - I have an old cable reel (I use as a table) which is needing some covering!

Yes, the abbey needs lots of repairs, so any fundraising ideas are welcomed lol Fortunately the council own it, and we get to live here as property guardians :) Check it out here: http://www.delapreabbey.org

Hi tallbirdme! :D I have a big bag full of wadding for you from Lynne. We have 2 events coming up - jubilee morsbagging at the wonderful Brocks Hill Environment Centre, monday 21st May, 10-4pm. All the usual suspects will be there!

Then there is the UK Green Film Festival at Phoenix Square cinema in Leicester. We did this last year and it was fab. Morsbaggers get to see the films free.

If you fancy coming along you can park at my house and we shall travel in from there. :D

When the sun reappears I will take a couple of pics to show you how I have been recycling my wadding offcuts - very productively

Very big WOW for the abbey!!!

If there are any wadding bits that are particularly good, let me know soonish and I will put more aside for you, for passing on via Offcuts. I am going to be making quite a few cage cushions/pet beds for the vets and RSPCA with what is not needed (although saying that I am really frantic with other things til mid-July, so probably won't get time before then, so no desperate rush :) )

Thanks! Sorry for the delay I've been away in Spain :) Plus now the weather is so nice, it's much harder to sit indoors & sew!

Thought our storage problems may be over, but not for a good reason. When I went to pick up 3 weeks ago, there was virtually nothing big enough to make a bag with (or even a handle). I have had to change my picking up day, so said I would go Thursday, but they had just heard they hadn't enough work so were going on short time (no Thurs/Fri). I arranged to go last Monday, but luckily they had managed to get a couple of big orders in, so they were back sewing as normal - and with quite a bit for me to bring home that week :)

The lack of bag fabric meant I could load the car up with all the quilting, so that is what is now filling my garage :( I have various committments until mid-July, then I will start sewing it into beds for the RSPCA, if no-one else wants any.

You are a little marvel LynneO with all the toing and froing and storage. I hope the factory gets more orders in. So worrying for everyone. Anyway, thank you for all the work you do for us.
