Very old thread! Hoping to shake it awake with this post:
Anyone still here and interested in doing a bit of SE London morsbagging (by arrangement)?

FANTASTIC NEWS Caterina. If you are meeting in a public place you could try advertising locally. Gumtree are pretty good. Good luck on Friday. Do let us know how it goes _________________ 'morsbaggers do it for free!' (Mary Scissorhands August 2009) |

Oooh - I'm not around for a couple of weeks but I'll definitely pop over on a Friday in late Feb... I may even be able to bring some fabric if you need it as am hoping to coordinate with a drop off relay from Yorkshire.
Looking forward to meeting London SE pod - from London SW pod! |

Hi pol
We are still meeting every friday to morsbag, but I have to say that the factory workers (me and my accomplice!) tend to waste a lot of time eating home-baked scones and drinking tea.
It is an unfortunate fact of life that my ancient Bernina rattles the table so we cannot work and have sips of tea at the same time, or it would spill all over the place! Hence the frequent tea breaks!
We are working towards 25 bags before 14th FEb National Release and we are nearly there, including a few co-ordinated "mum and child" morsbags, a big and a litte one, we found that a pillowcase easily makes the big and the little one.
We are thinking of doing our release on Saturday 13th Feb rather than Sunday 14th because this will give us the opportunity to target our local independent shops (we are still lucky enough to have some in our area!) and possibly get the attention of our local press people.
Please drop me an email when you plan to come over for a visit, it is zaza_98 (AT) hotmail.com and we will make sure that you are the recipient of good morsbagging and plenty of tea and scones! _________________ Cool Crafters Morsbag Factory |

She won't be able to resist that offer, Caterina. Sorry, just realised I mentioned gumtree on 2 different posts. I am losing it which Bernina have you got? _________________ 'morsbaggers do it for free!' (Mary Scissorhands August 2009) |

Hi Offcuts,
It is a really ancient model, I think it is the 805 or 807, not to hand now, will look and let you know.
Even so old it cost me £200 used a few years ago (it must have been at least 20 years old when I bought it from the Deptford sewing machine shop), but it was money well spent. It is indestructible, it is like a tank (although very heavy and cannot carry it to events).
I am now looking to buy a second hand extra light machine so I can carry it when I go to sew at friends' events.
Edited to say, I am not morsbagging in a public place, it is in my home so I am a bit wary of publicising it on Gumtree, but tomorrow when we do our (early) release, I am going to put stickers on the back of the morsbag instruction leaflets with my email and details of our morsbagging Fridays, so I might get a few more people. Watch this space! _________________ Cool Crafters Morsbag Factory |

I didn't realise that you were meeting at home so no it is not a good idea to advertise on gumtree.
Sounds like you have a lovely Bernina. If its heavy it might be an 830. If it has a red case that is good. £200 is very good for a second hand Bernina
Happy Bagging!!! _________________ 'morsbaggers do it for free!' (Mary Scissorhands August 2009) |

Just wondering if you could get the loan of a church hall or somewhere for the first few meetings till you get used to the people before allowing them to your home.. _________________ www.morsbags.com is not just an attitude but a way of life ! |

The local church hall already has a craft group, they make stuff to sell at church fairs and unfortunately not all the members are terribly friendly, so that is OUT!
At the release yesterday we put instructions on how to make the bags inside every bag we gave away and on top of the instruction I put a sticker giving details of our Friday morsbags making session and my email. I might receive a few replies that way, see how it goes. If too many to have at home I shall start thinking of alternative meeting arrangements. _________________ Cool Crafters Morsbag Factory |
